ITT A co-operative approch to GTP training

Denefield School was a founder member of a collaborative approach to ITT through a GTP programme where there is colloration between two secondary schools, the primary sector and the Local Authority. The West Berkshire Partnership trains 32 primary and secondary GTP students each year.

Developing the Year 7 Curriculum

Denefield was seeking to develop a Year 7 curriculum which met the needs of the pupils. The school researched a number of options and finally decided to follow the Opening Minds development and create a response appropriate for Denefield. The teachers from all the curriculum areas working closely together and the positive response from the pupils have been two of the qualities that characterise this development. The school has shared the experience with other schools through visits to Denefield through presentations at conferences.
